Senior CPA - Accounting & Financial Controls Join a dynamic finance team in the insurance sector for our client and play a key role in supporting accounting, reporting, control processes, and strategic initiatives. This opportunity offers broad exposure across finance functions and collaboration with numerous stakeholders while contributing to the continued growth of the business. What is in it for you: • Salaried: $41-51 per hour. • Incorporated Business Rate: $51-61 per hour. • 6-month contract. • Day schedule, 37.50 hours per week. • Hybrid role with 3 on-site days per week. Responsibilities: • Coordinate and complete monthly and quarterly finance functions for the affiliate business, including accounting close, chart of value requests, intercompany processes, bank disbursements, controllership functions, reporting, and analytics. • Support the operationalization of accounting models and ledger setup. • Ensure an adequate control environment is maintained and coordinate a stable control environment with subsidiaries. • Support reporting and analytics for the profit and loss statement, including partnering with business stakeholders to understand and explain results. • Work closely with multiple teams, providing finance oversight, guidance, and issue resolution, as applicable. • Support and lead strategic initiatives, including the Management Equity Plan (MEP) and IFRS 18. What you will need to succeed: Required qualifications • Professional accounting designation (CPA) with a related university degree or equivalent work experience. • 6-9 years of progressive experience within financial management functions. • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and conceptual skills. • Ability to apply technical knowledge to business issues and confidently challenge and influence senior stakeholders. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment while meeting demanding response times and maintaining strict attention to detail. Preferred qualifications • Experience with SAP. • Experience with Tableau. • Experience building reports. Soft skills • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with all levels of the organization. • Strong time management skills. • Ability to manage conflicting priorities while driving desired results.
