WHAT WE OFFER * Employer Paid Benefits * Employer Matched RPP * Employee Wellness Program * Education Assistance Program THE ROLE As part of the Finance team, the Payroll Manager oversees accurate payroll processing, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and drives continuous process improvement. peopleCare seeks a strategic leader with a passion for operational excellence, team development, and stakeholder collaboration. Reports to: Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting RESPONSIBILITIES * Develop and lead plans of action to support peopleCares strategic objectives, internal controls and efficient processes across the organization. * Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a multi-location, multi-union enterprise, ensuring compliance with government regulations and relevant CBA’s. * Communicates regularly with home leaders and other stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing * Lead and support payroll team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. * Co-lead change management initiatives related to payroll with the Payroll specialists, promoting adoption of new processes and technologies. * Support internal and external audits and audit payroll data, including earnings, deductions, and benefits, to ensure accuracy and compliance. * Investigate and resolve payroll issues, discrepancies, and employee concerns effectively to support the team of payroll specialists. * Optimize and maintain payroll software system ADP WFN and payroll processes in conjunction with the Payroll administrators for enhanced efficiency and accuracy. * Generate and analyze payroll and financial reports, providing insights and recommendations to management. * Oversee year-end payroll activities and accurate administration of benefit deductions, pension contributions, and other entitlements. * Create departmental KPI and monitor performance * Collaborate with the Finance team to insure accurate GL files Experience & Education Required: * Post-secondary education in payroll, accounting, or related business program * Successful completion of Canadian Payroll Association certification, a designation of PCP or PLP (formerly CPM) (preferred) * Minimum 5 years leadership experience in a multi-location environment, including experience with hourly and salaried payroll * Experience using ADP WFN will be considered a major asset * A strong understanding of collective agreements Thank you for your interest in this position.
