About the Role We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accountant II to join a collaborative financial operations team supporting day-to-day mutual fund and transaction-processing activities. The successful candidate will have two to three years of banking, financial services, mutual funds, or related accounting operations experience. This role is well suited to someone with strong Excel skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately in a high-risk compliance environment. You will work as part of a close-knit team that values growth, collaboration, and support. Key Responsibilities Process mutual fund trades and settlements accurately and within established service levels. Investigate, research, and resolve transaction breaks, exceptions, and discrepancies. Process FundSERV transactions and related money movements. Analyze financial and operational information and maintain accurate records. Use advanced Excel features, including formulas, pivot tables, spreadsheets, and macros, to support operational processes. Prepare, review, and maintain financial and operational reports. Assess information for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures. Respond to inquiries and provide professional customer service by phone and through internal communication channels. Maintain compliance with operational, financial, and regulatory requirements. Work with internal stakeholders to resolve issues and support daily business operations. Participate in a brief daily team huddle of approximately 15 minutes. Meet daily deliverables and performance metrics while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Required Qualifications University degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline. Two to three years of experience in banking, financial services, mutual funds, accounting, or financial operations. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and macros. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Word, Outlook, and Excel. Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn internal systems quickly. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in a compliance-focused environment. Ability to analyze discrepancies, identify root causes, and resolve issues effectively. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional phone communication. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet daily deadlines. Preferred Qualifications Experience with mutual fund operations or trade settlements. Experience with FundSERV transactions. Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or related industry training. Experience working in a regulated banking, investment, or financial services environment. Familiarity with accounting systems, transaction-processing platforms, or operational reporting tools.
