About the role We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our Accounting Team, led by the Americas Accounting Manager, on a temporary contract to provide maternity leave coverage. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to contribute to a fast-paced, dynamic environment while gaining valuable experience across a broad range of accounting functions. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records through the tracking of bank and credit card activity, participation in month-end close processes, account reconciliations and more. This role will also support other financial related activities such as US sales tax compliance, year-end audit requirements and special projects as required. What you'll be working on Bank reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all transactions. Credit Card Reconciliations: Reconcile company credit card statements and ensure proper categorization of expenses. Month-End Close: Participate in month-end close activities, ensuring all financial data is complete and accurate. Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Reconcile various balance sheet accounts to maintain accurate records of company assets and liabilities. US Sales Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with US sales tax regulations by preparing and filing accurate returns on time. Electronic Payments: Process electronic payments to vendors, suppliers, and other entities as needed. Cash Receipts: Deposit miscellaneous cash receipts and ensure proper recording in accounting systems. Audit Support: Assist in preparing and organizing documentation for audits, ensuring all necessary records are available and accurate. Ad hoc projects: Participate in continuous improvement projects to boost productivity and improve reporting We're looking for someone with Bachelor’s degree in accounting Proven experience (2+ years) in accounting or related role Multinational company experience Comfortable using various functions in Microsoft Excel such as Pivot Tables, Lookup formulas, etc. Experience with Oracle or SAP (an asset) Experience with Power BI/Power Query (an asset) Experience with IFRS (an asset) Competencies (Skills & Behaviors) Attention to detail and strong problem solving & analytical skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other departments. Ability to be work both independently as well as a team Strives for continuous improvement & is curious about technology Detail oriented with superior organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Requirements
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in accounting and at least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a multinational company. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, while experience with Oracle, SAP, Power BI, or IFRS is considered an asset.
