Contract Job title: Senior Financial Accountant - Asset Management Duration: 6-month contract Role status: Current opening Reporting to the Senior Director, Accounting & Controls, this role will support legal entity accounting, financial reporting and controls within an established financial services organization. The successful candidate will oversee monthly and quarterly finance activities, partner with business stakeholders on financial results and contribute to strategic accounting initiatives. Principal tasks and responsibilities include: Coordinate and complete monthly and quarterly finance activities for affiliated businesses, including accounting close, intercompany processes, bank disbursements, controllership, reporting and analytics. Support the implementation of accounting models and ledger setup. Maintain an effective financial control environment and coordinate consistent control practices across subsidiaries. Support profit and loss reporting and analysis, partnering with business stakeholders to understand and explain financial results. Provide finance oversight, accounting guidance and issue resolution across cross-functional teams. Support legal entity accounting and reporting, including data inputs for equity-based compensation arrangements. Support and lead strategic finance initiatives, including equity-based compensation programs and IFRS 18 implementation. Our client: An established financial services organization within the asset management sector. Qualifications and pre-requisites: Professional accounting designation (CPA), with a related university degree or equivalent work experience. 6-9 years of progressive experience within financial management functions. Strong experience in accounting close, financial reporting, intercompany accounting and financial controls. Strong problem-solving, analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to apply technical accounting knowledge to business issues. Confidence to challenge assumptions and influence senior stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of an organization. Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results. Ability to adapt to rapid change and meet demanding deadlines while maintaining close attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Experience with SAP, Tableau and building reports would be valuable assets. Additional information or perks: Hybrid work arrangement requiring three or more days in-office per week, with flexibility based on business and team needs.
