Job Summary Reporting to the Manager, System Quality Assurance, this position supports aviation safety at Porter Airlines through focus on the effectiveness of safety critical processes. Duties & Responsibilities Specific Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To Participate in the selection of audit projects based on corporate safety risk management objectives Conduct audits to evaluate of the effectiveness of safety-critical functions within the operation; Participate in the evaluation of the safety critical processes of alliance partners that are relevant to Porter aircraft Preparation of audit plans, checklists, sampling plans and other audit documentation related to assigned audits Develop detailed and evidence-based reports on all assigned audits Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and IATA operational safety standards relevant to a commercial air operator Maintain the confidentiality of organizational safety reporting systems and information acquired in the course of audit duties Serve as a Safety Ambassador and resource for all employees Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understanding, complying with and promoting the Company Safety Policy and Non-Punitive Reporting Policy Any other duties as assigned Behavioural Competencies Concern for Safety: Identifying hazardous or potentially hazardous situations and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment for self and others. Qualifications Working knowledge of Transport Canada requirements for quality assurance and the IATA operational safety audit program Experience in the IOSA certification of a commercial air operator Familiarity with commercial flight operations A minimum of five years of experience as an aviation internal auditor Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills; keen attention to detail Impartiality, integrity, tenacity, diplomacy and self-reliance are key attributes Working knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Safety Risk Management (SRM) principles Recent qualification as an Aviation Internal Auditor and/or acceptable combination of education, training and/or related work experience Ability to secure and maintain restricted airport security clearance Must maintain a valid passport; must be able to travel domestically and internationally when required on short notice Location Toronto (Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport - YTZ) Company Description Since 2006, Porter Airlines has been elevating the experience of economy air travel for every passenger, providing genuine hospitality with style, care and charm. Requirements
Requires a minimum of five years of experience as an aviation internal auditor and working knowledge of Transport Canada and IATA standards. Must possess a valid passport and the ability to obtain restricted airport security clearance.
