Where You’ll Add Value The Accountant, Corporate will report to the Assistant Controller, Corporate Accounting for corporate accounting and reporting functions for Morguard. This includes providing accurate and timely financial information as required by management, including the preparation and completion of Morguard’s consolidated financial statements. How You’ll Make a Difference General Accounting Responsible for maintenance/oversight of the day-to-day general ledger transactions, including drafting and input of journal entries Financial Reporting Assist in the preparation of Morguard’s consolidated financial statements and revising/updating the financial statements to address review comments Preparation of note disclosures and the associated working papers to ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial statements Responsible for determining and recording elimination and consolidation journal entries Assist in preparing internal reporting packages to provide further support for the consolidated financial statements Monitoring of monthly and quarterly reporting timeline Assist in the preparation of financial statements for various external reporting requirements Quarterly/Annual Audit Responsible for co-ordinating and managing the delivery of all working papers and supporting documents to facilitate the completion of the internal audit Assist with the audit processes through the preparation and compilation of the working papers to resolve external audit queries and liaise with auditors Management Reporting Responsible for the preparation of various management reporting for key industry metrics including NOI, occupancy & leasing activity Reforecast and Budget Prepare annual management and financial reporting packagesProvides assistance, where necessary, to the annual budget and periodic re-forecasting processes, including variance analysis Any other job-related duties and/or projects that may be assigned. The Expertise You’ll Bring Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Commerce or equivalent Working towards a CPA designation is required Minimum 1 – 2 years of experience in Corporate accounting and financial reporting or equivalent General understanding of Canadian GAAP and IFRS Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Office applications Demonstrated track record of creating and implementing strategic change and innovation would be an asset Working knowledge of Yardi 7S would be an asset Core Competencies Ability to think strategically and plan tactically Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail Preferred Qualifications And Experience Real Estate industry experience preferred. Annualized Base Salary Range: $70,000-$90,000 CAD. Pay Equity The salary range listed for this position reflects the anticipated compensation at the time of posting. Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Business or Commerce, or equivalent, is required, along with progress toward a CPA designation and 1–2 years of corporate accounting or financial reporting experience. Candidates should understand Canadian GAAP and IFRS, have intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Office skills, and demonstrate strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal abilities; real estate experience and Yardi 7S knowledge are preferred.
