What you will be doing Prepare Financial Reporting including financial statements and other reports for review by Controller and/or Management Maintenance & reconciliation of SAGE 300 general ledger & reporting templates Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, risk analysis, and ad hoc reports as required Month end reporting and year-end completion including auditing responsibilities Prepare monthly working paper and update continuity schedules Will be part of Special Projects and process improvements Assist Accounts Payable clerk regarding vendor setup and maintenance Support Accounts Receivable Billing clerks with policyholder payments & AR reconciliation Other duties as required What you bring to the team Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field Have a Canadian CPA designation and at least 3 years of progressive experience Knowledge and experience with IFRS 17 at a P&C insurance company Ability to prepare and analyze financial reports Experience with general ledger setup, account maintenance and posting journal entries Understanding of accounts payable/receivable processes & controls Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and audit request Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Good communication skills (written and verbal) Experience with ACCPAC and/or SAGE would be an asset Willingness to learn and take on new tasks How you will succeed In the first year, you’ll make an impact early by taking ownership of financial data analysis and ensuring accuracy in everything you touch. What you’ll do

The role involves preparing financial statements, managing the SAGE 300 general ledger, and assisting with budgets and forecasts. Additionally, the accountant will support month-end and year-end closing activities and contribute to process improvement projects.

Requirements

Candidates must have a diploma or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, a Canadian CPA designation, and at least 3 years of progressive experience. Specific knowledge of IFRS 17 within a P&C insurance company is required.
