Position Overview: We are seeking a full-cycle Bookkeeper to join our Salmon Arm office. Reporting to the Business Manager, this role works closely with our accounting team and administrative staff across multiple offices. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is comfortable managing a broad range of accounting responsibilities. This position is to support the continued growth of both our company and internal accounting capacity. The successful candidate will join an established team and play a key role in supporting our expanding operations across multiple offices.
Major Job Functions: Full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting Processing payroll (multi-employee environment) Posting journal entries and maintaining accurate financial records Performing regular reconciliations of accounts Preparing financial, statistical, and accounting reports Filing GST and PST returns Assisting with year-end working papers Supporting fleet tracking and related administration Maintaining organized filing systems (digital and physical) Collaborating with and supporting administrative staff across offices
Specific Skills and Knowledge: Strong organizational and time management skills, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy and numeracy Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Self-motivated with a proactive and solutions-focused approach Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practice Education and Experience: Bookkeeping Certificate or equivalent knowledge and experience. Minimum three years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience Experience with Microsoft Office software products such as Excel, Word, Outlook. Valid BC driver’s license. Experience with software such as Payworks or BQE CORE considered an asset. Experience working within a multi-location or project-based business environment is an asset.
Salary: $50,000-$75,000 annually commensurate on experience, full-time permanent position. The lower end of the range reflects candidates developing in a full-cycle role, while the upper end is intended for experienced professionals who can work independently and take on increased responsibility.
