About the Opportunity Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, the Accounting Clerk supports the accounting team with bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations across the group's operating companies, and serves as the backup for the complete payroll cycle. This is a hands-on role for a reliable, detail-oriented person who takes pride in accurate, on-time work.
Location: Quispamsis, New Brunswick Schedule: Monday to Friday Position: Full-Time, Permanent Eligibility: Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or individuals with a valid Canadian work permit. What You'll Do: Complete monthly bank reconciliations for multiple companies and accounts Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies Perform general ledger reconciliations and assist with journal entries and month-end tasks Serve as backup for the complete payroll cycle in Paymate and QuickBooks, providing coverage during absences and peak periods: verifying timesheets, calculating pay and deductions, and processing pay runs Assist with source deductions and government filings as needed, including CRA remittances, ROEs, and T4s Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and management when providing payroll coverage Complete other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the Corporate Controller
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications: Post-secondary education in accounting, payroll, business administration, or equivalent experience Experience preparing bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations Hands-on experience processing the complete payroll cycle, including source deductions, sufficient to provide reliable backup coverage Working knowledge of payroll legislation and CRA remittance requirements; PCP (Payroll Compliance Professional) designation an asset Experience with Paymate and/or QuickBooks payroll platforms is strongly preferred; proficiency with Microsoft Excel required Strong attention to detail, discretion with confidential information, and ability to meet firm deadlines Experience in construction or a multi-company environment is an asset
