About the role
We’re hiring a Financial Analyst for our client, a well-established organization located in the heart of Mississauga. This is a 6-month contract opportunity with a strong possibility of extension or conversion to a permanent position. The role is ideal for someone with solid hands-on accounting experience who enjoys working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
📍 Location: Mississauga 🏢 Hybrid: 3 days per week in office 📅 Contract: 6 months | Potential extension/conversion to permanent
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Financial Analyst will support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and assist with day-to-day accounting and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities: • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and other month-end adjustments • Perform balance sheet and account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities • Assist with financial analysis, reporting, and variance investigation • Work with large volumes of financial transactions while maintaining accuracy • Support the Accounting Manager with ad hoc analysis and accounting-related requests • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline accounting processes
What We’re Looking For: • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • Previous accounting/financial analyst experience within a mid-to-large-sized organization • Strong hands-on experience with journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close • Experience working in a high-volume transactional environment • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables; Macros are an asset • Proactive, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
