About the role

ABOUT US Kainaiwa Children’s Services Corporation is a growing, dynamic First Nations organization providing programs and services to Blood Tribe children and families in need of support and protection so that they can become positive, healthy contributing members of our community; While maintaining KCSC’s Vision, Mission Statements and incorporating Blood Tribe Traditions through “Kainayssini” the Declaration of the Elders of the Blood Indian Nation.

POSITION OVERVIEW Reporting to the Finance Supervisor, the Finance Clerk is responsible for entering financial data into the accounting system and providing support to Staff Accountant (s) and Finance Team for all types of payments, deposits, billing and financial reporting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Enter purchase orders, cheque requisitions, and invoices accurately and in a timely manner. Prepare weekly cheque runs. Perform bookkeeping functions, including bank reconciliations, budget entry, and general ledger journal entries. Prepare financial reports and complete a variety of data entry and bookkeeping tasks. Provide support with payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions, as required. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Finance Supervisor, Finance Manager, or Director.

QUALIFICATIONS Diploma in Business Administration or a related field, with related experience. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Working knowledge of ACCPAC Plus. Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial recordkeeping. Proficiency in data entry with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to prepare and maintain financial records, including bank reconciliations and general ledger entries. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with discretion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Knowledge of Blackfoot language and culture is considered an asset. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
