Senior Product Control SME – Capital Markets Transformation 📍 Toronto, ON | Hybrid (3 Days/Week) 📅 12-Month Contract | Strong Potential for Permanent Hire An exciting opportunity has become available within a growing Operational Technology team supporting Capital Markets. Our client is seeking an experienced Product Control professional with deep hands-on operational experience who has also participated in large-scale technology, process improvement, or business transformation initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone who has built their career within Product Control Operations, supporting daily P&L production, P&L analysis, accounting controls, and General Ledger reconciliations, and has since become involved in delivering strategic projects as the Product Control subject matter expert. Working closely with Technology, Finance, Operations, and Front Office stakeholders, you'll help shape and deliver key initiatives while ensuring operational requirements are translated into effective technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities Act as the Product Control subject matter expert on strategic technology and business transformation initiatives. Support large-scale projects impacting Product Control processes, controls, reporting, and financial systems. Partner with Technology, Finance, Operations, and Front Office stakeholders to define business requirements and deliver successful solutions. Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, process flows, and operational impacts. Participate in process redesign, technology implementations, testing (UAT), and production readiness activities. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, strengthen controls, and enhance reporting processes. Support the ongoing development of Product Control technology capabilities across Capital Markets. Required Qualifications 5+ years of hands-on Product Control Operations experience within Capital Markets. Extensive experience with: Daily trading P&L production and P&L analysis/explain. Reconciliation of P&L to the General Ledger (GL). Product Control accounting and financial controls. Daily operational support within a Product Control environment. Strong knowledge of Capital Markets products, including Fixed Income, Equities, FX, Interest Rate Products, and Derivatives. Proven experience supporting large-scale technology implementations, business transformation, or process improvement initiatives while working within a Product Control function. Experience acting as the business SME, working closely with Technology, Business Analysts, Developers, and Project Managers. Strong stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills.

Nice to Have Experience working in Agile environments. Exposure to Product Owner or Business Analyst responsibilities. Experience supporting Capital Markets technology modernization initiatives.

Please Note: This role is best suited for candidates with a strong foundation in hands-on Product Control Operations who have also gained experience supporting strategic projects or technology initiatives. Candidates with primarily project management or technology backgrounds, but limited Product Control operational experience, will not be a fit.
