We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant reporting to the Director, Finance to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will support with Director, Finance with key components of the full-cycle accounting process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting to various stakeholders for the Tempo organization. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are essential, as this role involves ensuring accuracy in financial records, identifying discrepancies, and supporting data-driven decision-making.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Full Cycle Accounting Processes Coordinate and execute key components of the financial close process, including the preparation of journal entries (accruals, prepaids, payroll support, etc.) Own preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely resolution of reconciling items. Track and manage close timelines and deliverables. Record and track fixed assets, including depreciation and disposals.

Audit and Compliance Participate in year-end closing, prepare year end external audit schedules, and respond to various queries and requests from external auditors. Support the year-end audit process and address external auditor requests.

Process Improvement and Controls Collaborate with different business units to analyze and explain significant account variances. Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and strengthen internal controls. Support development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures Support with special projects and perform ad-hoc analysis as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration Work collaboratively with marketing, sponsorships, and operations departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data collection and reporting. Ensure ongoing communications with various departments to ensure all budgets are accurate.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. 5+ years of accounting/finance experience required. Completed CPA designation or in progress is required. Strong understanding of financial systems, such as D365 BC considered an asset. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite preferred.

The salary range for the Senior Accountant role is between $80,00 - $85,000 CAD annually based on candidate skillsets.
