How will you contribute to our success?:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the month-end close and financial reporting for allocated entities, ensuring accurate accounting across multiple systems and compliance with ASPE or IFRS. The role includes the preparation of statutory financial statements, year-end audits, maintains key reconciliations, and oversee specialized accounting areas such as joint venture equity accounting and insurance claims
- Manage the month-end close process for regional entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Ensure proper interface and reconciliation with multiple systems (Oracle, IMOS, Concur)
- Record operating expenses, fuel, and trade costs
- Review overhead transactions and record necessary accruals
- Prepare monthly consolidated financial results
- Record equity income from joint venture partnerships
- Prepare statutory financial statements for multiple entities
- Participate in the annual year-end audit, including preparation of supporting schedules, review of impairment analyses, and drafting of position papers
- Maintain insurance claims accounting records and related supporting documentation
- Prepare and review monthly reconciliations for general ledger accounts
- Apply accounting policies in compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards
- Support the implementation and enhancement of accounting and internal control policies
- Prepare ad hoc reports and financial analyses, as required
- Contribute to continuous improvement of departmental processes, procedures, and tools
- Perform other related duties, as assigned
The skills you will bring to our team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA preferred
- 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably within a large organization
- Advanced Excel skills; working knowledge of Oracle and Power BI is an asset
- Strong accounting expertise, including ASPE and IFRS
- Highly meticulous with excellent attention to detail; able to manage large volumes of data
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present analyses to non‑finance stakeholders (e.g., Operations and Commercial teams)
- Ethical, accountable, and deadline-driven
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
