About the role
Role Description The Accounts Processing Clerk is a full-time, on-site role based in Halifax, NS. This role is responsible for verifying billing details, and ensuring accurate entry of financial data into accounting systems. Daily tasks include reconciling accounts, preparing payment batches, monitoring outstanding balances, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. The Accounts Processing Clerk collaborates with internal teams and external partners to resolve discrepancies, respond to account inquiries, and maintain organized records. The role also involves using computer-based tools and software to manage documentation and support the overall efficiency of the finance function. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong analytical skills to process accounts accurately and support reconciliations. Candidates should possess effective communication and customer service skills to interact with internal teams, clients, and vendors professionally. Candidates should possess solid computer literacy skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets, accounting software, and general office applications. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative roles within finance or maritime services is an asset. Completion of relevant post-secondary education or training in accounting, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
