Board of Governance Expressions of Interest
About the role
GCASA is seeking expressions of interest from individuals passionate about ending sexual and family violence in Gippsland and eager to contribute their leadership and skills to our Board of Governance.
To ensure greater representation across the sector and diverse perspectives, GCASA is particularly seeking representatives from the following areas:
Lived experience of sexual violence Gippsland Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander People Specialist/non-specialist services that include a focus on primary prevention and innovation.
Additional (non-essential) Skills Of Interest Include
Governance Finance Compliance Legal
A Board Member (Director) commitment to a minimum 3 year term is encouraged, with monthly meetings and involvement in strategic direction and oversight.

About Gippsland Centre Against Sexual Assault Inc
Gippsland Centre Against Sexual Assault (Gippsland CASA) is a community-based, non-profit organisation. We have provided a specialist support service across the entire Gippsland Region since 1986. We are a free and confidential service; available to anyone in Gippsland who has ever been impacted by sexual assault.
What do we do? We offer individual counselling and support to children and adults who have experienced, or have been impacted by sexual assault. We provide outreach services to several places across the Gippsland region to support community access to our individual counselling, family services, and to engage the Gippsland community in our prevention and community development initiatives.
We also offer a therapeutic response to children and families where a child or young person has engaged in problematic or sexually abusive behaviours.
A key part of our work is to advocate for change to reduce the impact of sexual assault on individuals and communities, and to raise awareness and understanding about the incidence and impact of sexual assault. We do this work with the ultimate aim of preventing sexual and other forms of violence from occurring.
