Contract: 12-18 months
Setup: 4-5 days/week in office, in North York
About the Opportunity Under the direction of the Manager, Finance the Senior Accountant will be responsible for: Coordinating the preparation of the annual agency budget Assisting Managers in budget submissions to regional governments Preparing year-to-date financial reports Preparing journal entries and reconciliations Preparing Annual Grants utilization report for regional government Assisting with preparation of monthly financial statements and reviews same Variance analysis of monthly general ledger and financial statements. Revenue recognition, funds analysis and complete government documents Maintaining year-end audit schedules Reconciling agency’s investments monthly and annual reconciliation Preparing annual returns (i.e. Charity Information Return, etc.) Completing GST returns semi-annually Completing Statistics Canada reporting Preparing and posts payroll journal entries
About You 5+ years of experience in accounting Enrollment or completion of an Accounting designation Strong experience in account reconciliations and able to work through large data sets Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and lookup functions)
