Ember Resources Inc. is Canada's largest producer of coalbed methane (CBM), with over 200 million cubic feet per day of natural gas production from coals. Located in Calgary, AB, we have a dominant land position in Alberta's Horseshoe Canyon coal trend and have consolidated a significant amount of CBM assets in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Ember is looking for a permanent Accounts Payable Clerk for our downtown Calgary office team, who can operate in a fast-paced environment. This position is deadline driven so candidates must have excellent time-management skills. Previous experience with the Qbyte Financial System is preferred, and experience with OpenInvoice and CheqMaster is an asset.
Duties include:
Manage accounts payable emails
Enter invoices and payment requests into OpenInvoice
Upload employee expense reports
Prepare and execute weekly payment runs (EFT and cheques)
Upload cheque files to CheqMaster
Process land interface files
Prepare journal entries or spreadsheet uploads, as required
Void and cancel cheques
Email EFT remittances
Coverage for reception desk and provide other administrative support, as required.
Key Deliverables:
Establish relationships with peers throughout the organization to ensure a strong level of service is delivered, and;
Timely and efficient processing of payment runs.
Progress efficiency and automation initiatives within the department.
Essential Experience & Skills:
A minimum of 1 year experience in an Accounts Payable / Payment run position preferred
Working knowledge of OpenInvoice, Qbyte Financial, Energylink and CheqMaster are an asset
Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and multi-task effectively
Ability to communicate effectively, confidentially, and professionally in a dynamic business environment
Strong team player with the ability to build relationships and work constructively with others to achieve business goals
