Healthcare Administration Specialist (Remote | $40 –$50/hr)

Healthcare Administrative Specialist Location: Remote (United States) Engagement Type: Hourly Contract Compensation: $40–$50/hour About the Opportunity This opportunity is for experienced Healthcare Administrative and Operations professionals with hands-on expertise in the back-office workflows that support medical practices, hospitals, and health plans. The role focuses on applying real-world healthcare administrative experience across patient access, prior authorizations, claims, revenue cycle operations, provider enrollment, payer operations, and health information management. This is a healthcare administrative and operational role — not a medical coding or clinical care position. Key Responsibilities Manage and evaluate patient registration, scheduling, insurance eligibility verification, benefits interpretation, intake, and referral workflows. Support prior authorization processes, including initiating, submitting, tracking, and resolving authorization requests through payer portals. Handle claims and revenue cycle workflows, including claim submission, status tracking, denials, appeals, A/R follow-up, and rejection resolution. Review remittance and payment workflows, including Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA), payment posting, and reconciliation. Support provider and payer operations, including credentialing, provider enrollment, payer configuration, appeals, grievances, and member/provider services. Manage health information workflows, medical records administration, release of information, and day-to-day practice operations. Apply hands-on knowledge of healthcare systems and administrative workflows to support high-quality project outcomes. Required Qualifications 3+ years of daily, hands-on experience in a healthcare administrative, operational, or back-office role. Currently working in a healthcare administrative role. Direct experience with healthcare administrative systems, including payer portals, EHR/practice-management platforms, and/or clearinghouses. Experience with platforms such as Availity, Optum/Change Healthcare, Waystar, Office Ally, UHC Link, BCBS, Aetna, or comparable payer systems. Strong understanding of healthcare administrative workflows, documentation, and operational processes. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and written communication skills. Must be based in the United States.
