You are a Finance Assistant, Billing. (5 month contract)

Location: Toronto, Calgary, Halifax – Remote

We are seeking a highly organized Finance Assistant with hands-on finance experience in a generalist capacity. This role requires detail-driven individual, who can confidently manage AP and AR, perform reconciliations and ensure documents pass audit testing.

You bring strong discernment, take ownership of finance processes, and operate with urgency. You are proactive, independent, and comfortable flagging discrepancies when something doesn’t look right.

What Are Your Responsibilities?

• Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).

• Monitor and manage the shared AP inbox, responding promptly and following up on outstanding items.

• Perform reconciliations and identify discrepancies.

• Track and reconcile project-related expenses.

• Maintain well-organized, audit-ready documentation in SharePoint.

• Support monthly client invoicing with accurate and properly collated documentation.

• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance across all finance records.

What Type of Qualities and Qualifications Should I Have?

• 1-2+ years of finance experience
• Strong AP and AR experience.
• Proven experience with reconciliations.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Solid SharePoint experience (document management).
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, proactively, and with urgency.
• Demonstrated discernment and ability to maintain audit-ready standards.

Nice to Have

• NetSuite and Bionic experience, knowledge of media business operations

Salary

The Canada base salary range for this position is $50,000- $55,000. Our salary ranges are determined by job and level. Within the range, individual compensation is determined by job-related skills and knowledge, relevant experience including professional and lived experience, and/or work location.
