The Senior Stewardship Analyst plays a key role in supporting stewardship financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and analytical activities across multiple provincial deposit return and recycling programs. The role serves as a subject matter expert, providing financial and operational insights to support strategic decision-making, contract negotiations, network optimization, and stewardship compliance initiatives. Working closely with internal stakeholders, external service providers, and stewardship partners, the Senior Stewardship Analyst develops business cases, evaluates program performance, identifies process improvement opportunities, and delivers data-driven recommendations that support operational excellence, regulatory requirements, and the continued evolution of stewardship programs across Canada.Location Our Corporate Office is located in Bolton, ON. This is a field-based role with visits to the office on an as-needed basis. Up to 20% of business travel is required, therefore a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.What You'll Be Doing

Act as the key finance contact for annual budgeting, month-end activities, monthly financial tracking and reporting, and quarterly forecasting

Perform research and financial analysis on stewardship costs and revenues across provinces, identifying anomalies, trends, risks, and opportunities for audit activities and operational improvements

Develop and maintain financial models supporting contract negotiations, recycling processing agreements, depot contracts, network expansion initiatives, and other strategic stewardship investments Provide stewardship and operational teams with financial metrics, trend analysis, commentary, and recommendations to support informed business decisions and challenge the status quo where appropriate

Analyze and interpret large, complex data sets, incorporating historical context, interdependencies, and future impacts to support strategic and operational decision-making

Lead or support cross-functional projects with Senior Management, stewardship agencies, and operational partners to advance strategic priorities, operational excellence, and corporate objectives

Develop, interpret, and present GIS-based sales and returns coverage analysis, trends, recommendations, and insights to support network optimization and regulatory compliance

Support empty return network coverage and expansion initiatives across Ontario and other jurisdictions, including stewardship projects, pilots, and operational enhancements

Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities, including the use of Power BI and other analytical tools, to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities

Provide guidance and support to the Stewardship Analyst to ensure data integrity, validation, and high-quality analysis and reporting

Develop, review, and evaluate business cases and operational proposals related to environmental stewardship, providing subject matter expertise and strategic recommendations

Assess stewardship initiatives using quantitative, qualitative, financial, scenario, contractual, and regulatory analyses to support investment decisions and business outcomes

Perform other related duties and projects as assigned Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience Education Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or a similar discipline with a focus on analysis, data management and/or project management Experience 5-7 years' experience working in financial analysis or management accounting OR comparable operational experience coupled with 4+ years' of analytical experience Prior supervisory/team leader experience an asset Skills Superior skills in Excel, as well as creating/updating complex spreadsheets for modeling and data analysis tools required, with the proven ability to communicate same to variety of audiences with varied levels of financial expertise Proven experience in filtering through large amounts of data and summarizing key aspects into briefings/recommendations that can be used for decision making that challenges the status quo is essential Demonstrated experience briefing groups at all levels of management on data-based quantitative results and recommendations, and fielding follow up questions Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects and audits under tight timelines, while driving results across cross functional teams and maintaining project scope Excellent written and oral communication, including presentation skills, report drafting and briefing notes preparation Compensation Salary range?
