Location: Peterborough, Ontario (On-site) Position Type: Full-time, 1.0 FTE Starting Salary: $83,106 Salary Range: Up to $93,536 Application Deadline: August 14, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST
United Way Peterborough & District is seeking a strategic and collaborative Director, Finance & Administration to join its Senior Leadership Team. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and partnering with the Senior Leadership Team, the Director will provide leadership across the organization’s finance, accounting, administration, risk management, and corporate services functions. This position will oversee financial operations, budgeting and forecasting, annual audit preparation, internal controls, regulatory compliance, community-investment financial oversight, procurement, contracts, insurance, technology vendors, and office administration. The Director will also supervise the Finance and Data Officers, strengthen departmental systems and processes, and provide clear financial analysis and recommendations to the CEO, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors.
The successful candidate will bring five to seven years of progressive experience in financial management, accounting, budgeting, reporting, or corporate administration, including leadership or supervisory experience. Knowledge of nonprofit or charitable financial practices is strongly valued. A CPA designation, or substantial progress toward completion, is considered an asset. United Way Peterborough & District offers extended healthcare benefits, matched RRSP contributions, paid vacation and sick leave, an office closure between Christmas and New Year’s, and half-day Fridays during July and August.
