Job Summary
Athletics and Recreation takes a holistic approach to enhancing the Dalhousie experience by creating and sharing ways to engage and connect students through physical activity and wellness, and to contribute to student success. Reporting to the Manager, Finance & Administration, the Finance and Administration Clerkperforms daily financial activities for Athletics & Recreation, including purchase requisitions, travel claims, and general reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the flow and tracking of all accounts payable items and checks for accuracy of all incoming accounts payable items on a daily basis as required including invoices, travel claims, cheque requisitions, purchase requisitions according to established University financial policies, as appropriate.

Reconcile processed travel claims, journal entries, invoices and cheque requisitions by verifying entries and comparing transactions against the General Ledgers posted each month.

Maintain the Fusion database, runs reports for staff, create/maintain products, create invoices, etc.

Serve as the first point of contact for the finance area in Dalplex: respond to general inquiries and redirect questions as needed.

Perform general office duties, maintains files, handles couriered packages, order office supplies, etc.
Note
Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.
Required Qualifications
-
Business administration diploma with two to three years’ experience in bookkeeping/financial administration experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills are vital to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Experience working in Accounts Payable in the non-profit or higher education sectors.
