Overview: We are a dynamic and growing organization in the fresh fruit packing and international export industry. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Compliance & Audit Specialist to join our team. This entry-level role is designed for a professional eager to grow within the agricultural sector. You will play a vital role in ensuring our operations adhere to strict food safety regulations, international certifications, and internal quality standards. Please note: This position is based in Kelowna, BC, and candidates must be willing to relocate. Key Responsibilities Audit Support: Assist in the preparation, execution, and documentation of internal and external audits (e.g., GlobalG.A.P., SMETA). Documentation & SOPs: Help maintain, update, and organize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GMP logs, and compliance records with a high degree of accuracy. Quality Assurance: Conduct daily facility & field walkthroughs and routine quality checks to ensure adherence to food safety protocols. Traceability & Data Management: Support the monitoring and accurate data entry for our supply chain traceability systems (FSMA 204 compliance). Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to streamline daily tasks and assist in minor operational improvement projects. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Food Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 0 to 2 years of experience in agriculture, food manufacturing, or quality assurance (internships and co-op placements are highly valued). Knowledge: Basic understanding of HACCP principles and food safety fundamentals. Familiarity with GlobalG.A.P. or other GFSI-recognized schemes is a strong asset but not strictly required (training will be provided). Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel). Mindset: Proactive, exceptionally detail-oriented, eager to learn, and capable of working in a fast-paced, operational environment. What We Offer Competitive starting salary ($45,000 - $65,000 CAD, depending on experience and others) with performance-based growth opportunities. Direct mentorship from experienced Food Safety & Compliance management. Hands-on training in international certifications, supply chain traceability, and export regulations.
