About the role
Our client is a leading Residential Developer in Richmond Hill Job purpose Our client is hiring a Corporate Accountant to provide full-cycle accounting support for our corporate entities. Duties will include overseeing the accounting for management, property and investment companies as well as maintaining the books for ownership holding companies. Reporting to the Controller, the Corporate Accountant will also ensure adherence to the established system of internal controls while providing accurate financial reporting in a safe and friendly work environment. Duties and responsibilities Accounting & Financial:
Complete full-cycle accounting functions by recording all pertinent transactions and intercompany reconciliations for Management, Property and Corporate entities .Ensure vendor payments are approved and paid in accordance with AP process .Complete reconciliations for all bank accounts .Provide cash projections monthly for the management company .Complete HST returns. Assist with CRA audits as required .Complete year-end working paper files including interaction with accounting firm
. Management Fees and Cost Recover
y: Create monthly invoices for management fees and initiate collection from project entiti es.Determine cost recoveries from projects and invoice month ly.Ensure corporate and union payroll amounts are accurately recorded and reconcil ed.Calculate union payment recoveries and collect payment form project entiti es.Intercompany Loans and Equi t
y: Ensure all intercompany transactions are recor ded.Post monthly journal entries for equity contributions/distributi ons.Reconcile all equity accounts with project ledg ers.Assist with intercompany settlements as requi red.Property Account
ing: Maintain rent roll for various properties and ensure rents are collected, deposited and recorded on time.Set up the new leases and tenants in ERP sy stem.Prepare annual operating and tax recovery adjustm ents.Prepare chargebacks for tenants where applic able.O
ther: Ensure proper filing of documents in accordance with p olicy.Collaborate cross-functionally with various teams to support business deci sions.Any other duties and tasks as ass

ations: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or accounting desi gnation.Experience in development and/or home construction industry is a n asset.Minimum 3 years’ experience in a multi-entity env ironmentExperience with Newstar Enterprise is a n asset.Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and comprehension) are imp erative.Strong attention to
