CyberClan is hiring a Controller & Finance Manager who will be responsible for leading our day-to-day accounting operations, manage financial strategy, and support scalable growth across our global organization. Combining strong technical accounting expertise with hands-on leadership, you will ensure the integrity of financial reporting, oversee payroll and tax compliance, maintain strong internal controls, and direct cash flow management. In this role, you will also supervise accounting staff, review journal entries, lead month-end/year-end closings, and coordinate external audits to drive informed business decisions. The successful candidate will work closely with the EVP of Finance. The ideal candidate will have an energetic, can-do attitude and be comfortable working in a metrics-driven environment, delivering results and supporting team members.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Accounting Operations Manage all aspects of the accounting function, including but not limited to, Account Receivables, Account Payables, General Ledger, Payroll, Collections, Banking and Treasury Activities, Fixed Assets and Depreciation, and Intercompany Accounting Manage company cash flow, working capital, credit facilities, loans, and financing arrangements Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports Prepare and review monthly Project Profit and Loss (P&L) accounts Ensure accuracy and completeness of Project P&L by investigating and reporting variances based on the profitability of the project Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Act as the primary escalation point for finance-related matters Assist and support the EVP of Finance during Audit and Taxation Period
Financial Reporting & Analysis Develop cash flow forecasts and liquidity planning models Develop management reporting packages which supports meaningful business insights Analyze financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities Create dashboards and KPIs to measure financial and operational performance Monitor key working capital metrics including, but not limited to, Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), Days Payable Outstanding (DPO), Cash Conversion Cycle, and Collections Performance Provide recommendations to executive leadership based on financial analysis
Budgeting, Forecasting & Strategic Planning Lead annual budgeting processes across departments Coordinate monthly and quarterly forecasting activities Support long-term financial planning and business growth initiatives Assist leadership in evaluating investments, acquisitions, and strategic opportunities Support financial modeling and scenario planning
Tax, Compliance & Audit Management Ensure compliance with Canadian and international financial regulations Coordinate corporate tax filings and tax planning initiatives Support cross-border operations and compliance requirements Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and accounting firms Assist with annual audits, reviews, and regulatory reporting requirements Maintain a strong understanding of tax regulations in the following regions: Canada, USA, UK, and Australia
Internal Controls & Process Improvement Develop, document, and strengthen internal control frameworks Establish accounting policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks Evaluate and improve financial workflows and automation opportunities Lead ERP system enhancements and financial technology initiatives Ensure financial controls are scalable and aligned with company growth objectives
Payroll & HR Support Oversee payroll administration and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Manage payroll reporting, remittances, and employee deductions. Support compensation planning and administration. Assist in finance department workforce planning and resource management
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Technical Expertise Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros, Power Query, Financial Modeling) 5+ Experience with full cycle general accounting functions Strong knowledge of ERP and accounting systems
Finance & Business Acumen Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cash flow management Expert knowledge of Canadian GAAP and IFRS Strong understanding of Canadian tax compliance requirements Flexibility in handling evolving business requirements and priorities Ability to translate detailed financial information into actionable business insights
Leadership & Collaboration Ability to translate detailed financial information into actionable business insights Ability to lead and motivate a team in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining accuracy Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes Lead, mentor, and develop members of the finance team Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and professional development initiatives Build strong cross-functional relationships throughout the organization Experience supporting rapid-growth organizations
Required Education & Certifications Post-Secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline 5+ Years of progressive accounting and finance experience 3+ Years of experience as a Supervisor or Team Lead
Preferred Qualifications CPA Designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) or actively pursuing designation 7-10+ Years of progressive accounting and finance experience 3-5+ Years of experience in a Controller, Finance Manager or Senior Finance leadership role Familiarity with U.S., UK, and/or Australian tax frameworks
Compensation $90,000 - $110,000 CAD A candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications & location
