Job Description Accounting Coordinator Corporate Services – Corporate Finance Status: (1) Contract Full-Time position - Up to 13 months Salary Range: $62,902 - $78,628 per annum plus comprehensive benefits Hiring Range: $62,902 - $70,765 per annum plus comprehensive benefits Work Mode: Hybrid *see below for more details about this work mode. Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton Hours of Work: 35 hours per week Reporting to the Supervisor, Corporate Reporting & Receivables, the Accounting Coordinator plays an important role within the Accounting and Controllership team. Your role is responsible for recording the revenues and payments received for multiple departments within the Region of Peel and assisting with auditing, printing and distribution of the Accounts Payable payments and EFT advices. What you will be accountable for: Assisting with the processing of cash receipts and deposit transactions, ensuring transactions balance with the bank activity and that all sources of revenue have been identified and correctly coded. Preparing and uploading journal entries Printing Accounts Payable cheques and logging payments so all cheques can be accounted for. Inventory and ordering of printing supplies and deposit books. Processing the Accounts Payable electronic notifications for EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) payments. Provide response to internal and external client enquiry Attention to detail and aptitude for numbers to ensure accuracy Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines. Committed to building partnerships with stakeholders across the organization Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High school diploma required. College diploma/University degree specifically in Accounting or Finance would be considered an asset. Three years of finance, accounting or equivalent administrative experience, or a combination of education and experience may be considered. Technically savvy with work experience using Microsoft Suite especially Excel. Knowledge of an ERP system like PeopleSoft or SAP would be an asset. Skills/Abilities: Excellent organizational and customer service skills. Detail oriented combined with an ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities to meet deadlines.
