Accounts Payable Clerk
About the role
Join the True North Sports + Entertainment Team. True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our Finance & Administration team as an Accounts Payable Clerk.
In this role, you will be responsible for capturing and recording the day-to-day accounts payable activities across all True North entities. You'll play an integral part in ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable legislation, while supporting a collaborative finance team committed to excellence and continuous improvement.
What to be excited for in this role: Be part of a collaborative and experienced Finance team that values continuous improvement and recognizes the contributions of every team member. Process invoices and ensure expenses are accurately coded and allocated. Prepare timely payment disbursements. Record all invoices in the accounting system with accuracy and attention to detail. Complete monthly and periodic reconciliations, supporting schedules, and journal entries as part of the financial statement preparation process. Ensure compliance with applicable tax legislation, including Goods and Services Tax (GST), Harmonized Sales Tax (HST), and Provincial Sales Tax (PST). Assist with ad hoc financial reporting and analysis. Perform other duties as required to support the Finance function.
What we need from you: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to accuracy, attention to detail, and sound financial practices. The ability to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced and evolving environment. A combination of relevant education and/or work experience, with an emphasis in accounting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software, along with strong computer skills. A proactive, dependable, and self-motivated approach to managing both routine and non-routine tasks while consistently meeting deadlines. A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in being part of a Finance & Administration team dedicated to providing exceptional service across all areas of the organization.
