Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance and Treasury, the Manager, Real Estate Finance will be responsible for independently managing debt financing processes from initial lender outreach through closing, across Beedie’s diverse real estate portfolio. Core financing duties include asset underwriting, financial analysis, preparation of lender materials, through to deal negotiation, documentation, and funding. The role requires a collaborative and proactive approach to effectively maintain and develop relationships with Beedie’s lending partners and internal business units. The role will also support treasury, cash management, financial modelling, and other strategic finance initiatives as required. \n
Key Responsibilities Financings & Analysis Manage debt financing for stabilized income-producing properties, industrial and residential development properties and land Prepare financing packages, RFPs and lender presentations in line with the requirements and objectives of the asset, portfolio and ownership Manage lender outreach and financing timelines Coordinate with legal counsel on all key loan deliverables Negotiate term sheets, commitment letters, security packages, recourse provisions and other key financing terms Oversee loan CP’s and funding requirements Collaborate with acquisition, construction, development, property and asset management teams to develop financing inputs and analysis to support financing and other business decisions and align with proformas, budgets and forecasts Support due diligence process for new acquisitions by sourcing financing term sheets and aligning on financing assumptions in the acquisition proforma Develop and maintain relationships with banks and lenders, while also serving as a liaison across internal teams for their banking and financing requirements Financial Analysis and Capital Management Support strategic finance initiatives, including financial modelling, lender reporting, portfolio analysis, and ad hoc transaction support Develop strategies to maximize efficiencies and minimize borrowing costs, including making the most efficient usage of the various loan facilities Recommend and implement improvements to the cash management operations
Qualifications University degree in Real Estate, Finance, Commerce, or a related field Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in borrower or lender side real estate finance, banking, or corporate/project finance Lender or borrower side experience executing financings for variety of real estate assets Strong understanding of real estate fundamentals, valuation principles, proformas, and deal underwriting Excellent communicator — able to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely to varied audiences Strong financial modelling with advanced Excel skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Highly organized, results-driven, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
\n $110,000 - $130,000 a year The annual base pay range for this position will be based on the desired experience level for this role. Additionally, Beedie recognizes exceptional individual and team performance through our pay-for-performance bonus program.
