Senior Accountant Location: Calgary, AB Rate: $39 p/h
The Opportunity Join our Corporate Accounting team as a Senior Accountant, where you’ll play a key role in supporting accurate financial reporting with a focus on interest income, foreign exchange, and intercompany activities. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden your exposure across corporate accounting functions while working closely with a collaborative, high-performing team.
What You’ll Do Prepare and analyze monthly variance reports for interest income and related balances Record quarterly journal entries for restricted investments Support quarterly and annual accounting for insurance programs and captive entities Draft MD&A and financial statement disclosures (interest income & FX) Manage intercompany and inter-affiliate settlements Partner with Finance, Accounting, and IS teams on SAP testing (loans, intercompany, derivatives) Deliver ad hoc reporting, analysis, and process support
What You Bring CPA designation (required) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 6+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of financial reporting and consolidation principles (US GAAP preferred) Experience with SAP (ECC/BPC) and multi-currency environments Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills and a collaborative team mindset
