Position Summary
Within a fast-paced consultant business setting, the Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting the finance team managing consultant's daily time and expense entry activities used for billing purposes. This position reports to the controller within Business Operations Support. This position is accountable for verifying timesheets and expense reports in the ERP system as per company policy, reconciling subcontractor accounts, verifying approvals for field staff, journal entries, remittances and internal reporting.
Some Key Responsibilities
Manages consultants timesheets and expense report verification and client billings/invoices utilizing transactions entered in NetSuite; Educating field staff on how to resolve thier entry discrepancies within the NetSuite System; Produces internal reports for verification and auditing purposes of time entries and expense reports; Processing, auditing, reconciling, identifying and following up with field staff for discrepancies and reccurring discrepancies; Performs accounts payable functions for designated accounts; Performs other duties as assigned to support the Accounting/Finance Team
Qualifications/Requirements
Diploma in accounting or 2 years’ experience in a similar role; Experience working in a high-volume accounting function with attention to detail is a must; Experience in consulting, construction or transportation industries an asset. Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite an asset; Proficient with working on Microsoft suite applications with a high emphasis on excel intermediate to advance features; High level of proficiency with resolving and communicating discrepancies both verbally and in writing, maintaining a professional demeanor; Excellent at managing expectations, shows initiative and can multitask; Familiarity with payroll processing from a timesheet perspective; High-level of interpersonal skills and working in a team environment;
