Position Overview
An Ottawa-based professional services organization is seeking a Finance & Accounting Manager to lead core accounting functions and support broader financial operations. This hybrid role offers a balance of remote and in-office work. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and clear communication skills. A CPA designation is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting operations, including payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable Perform and review bank and balance sheet reconciliations Manage monthly close processes, including accruals and supporting schedules Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting procedures Support audit activities and coordinate with external accountants Leverage accounting and CRM systems to improve financial workflows
Qualifications & Experience
CPA designation preferred. Accounting diploma or equivalent required 5–7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting Strong hands-on experience with payroll, A/R, A/P, reconciliations, and month-end close Proficiency with QuickBooks required Experience with Bullhorn CRM is an asset Background in staffing or recruitment industry is an advantage Prior experience supervising or mentoring team members preferred
