s. Reporting to the Manager, Payroll Services, the Senior Payroll Accounting and Reporting Analyst will be responsible for the accurate reconciliation, monitoring, auditing and reporting of the Board’s Payroll accoun ts.The Senior Payroll Accounting and Reporting Analyst wi ll:Interpret, evaluate and analyse period-end posting results to various general ledger accounts and complete payroll account reconciliations for all Payroll General Ledger (GL) accoun ts.Prepare financial reports and summaries for payro ll.Develop effective processes for data collection, presenting and reporting on the data being analys ed.Complete aging analyses and analysing varianc es.Support quality service initiatives and quality assurance testi ng.Supervise designated sta

Summary of Dut ies:Reconcile the Board’s payroll GL accounts, identify and conduct root cause analysis of discrepancies and report findings to the Mana ger.Analyze, prepare and run reports (monthly, weekly, year-end etc.), ensuring timely and accurate information is provided to support payroll functions, Finance department and/or business partn ers.Oversee and review payroll posti ngs.Provide payroll results to Finance to execute biweekly payr oll.Prepare aging and trend analy sis.Develop effective processes for data collection, presenting and report ing.Analyze data of the annual leave repo rts.Prepare journal entries as requi red.Supervise the audit processes for various payroll functi ons.Create and test audit reports and processes prior to implementat ion.Collaborate regarding annual audits with the Finance department including acting as a lead representative for CRA, Provincial revenue agencies, etc.Provide documentation and facilitate reviews for specific transacti ons.Assist with the analysis of leaves and recovery of outstanding overpayme nts.Supervise designated staff including assignment of tasks, hiring, training, review of performance, feedback, and disciplinary action as requi red.Participate in the development, improvement and recommended solutions of the HRIS and business processes related to the financial management of the Board’s payr oll.Ensure new payroll business process requirements are integrated into SAP and new SAP functionality is updated and documented into departmental business processes using standard to ols.Work with the Payroll Manager and Supervisors to complete monthly and year end reconciliation of T4s.Research trends and evaluate payroll programs and practi ces.Provide documentation and support to the grievance/arbitration process as requi red.Communicate, and interpret payroll accounting policies and controls in accordance with statutory requireme nts.Works across functions to develop and formulate processes and databases for controls which promote consistent and reliable financial resu lts.Provide leadership in fostering equity and inclusiveness in the development and implementation of programs and servi ces.Other duties as assig

Qualifica tionsUniversity degree in related field such as Business Administration including Human Resources, Information Technology and Accounting courses with three years’ progressively responsible related accounting/payroll experience for a large employer, or an equivalent combination of education and experi ence.Professional Accounting Designation ( CPA).Professional Payroll Designation (PCP, PLP).Demonstrated experience in data analysis, cost accounting and payroll audi ting.Ability to monitor and review payroll systems and internal cont rols.Ability to produce ad-hoc reports using a number of reporting tools including preparation of accurate reports and summa ries.Knowledge of quality assurance and audit techni ques.Knowledge and understanding legislative requirements e.g., Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), Employment Standards Act (ESA) and related TDSB policies and procedures, collective agreement provis ions.Strong application development, attention to detail and organizational sk ills.Supervisory experience with strong leadership, mentoring and team building sk ills.Strong project management and time management sk ills.Thorough understanding of HR/Payroll system using SAP/R3 mo dule.Advanced computer skills including MS Office Suite, (spreadsheets, databases, project management and presentation packa ges).Strong conceptual, analytical/interpretative and problem-solving sk ills.Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills including report writing and presentation sk ills.Ability to work under pressure in order to meet frequent deadl ines.Proven ability in promoting equitable practices which value inclusiveness and diver sity.Flexibility to adapt to a changing work environ
