Looking for a rewarding career where you can play a key role in supporting traffic operations? SPR Traffic Services LP is seeking a highly organized and customer focused Dispatcher to join our Nanaimo - Parksville team.

This is a full-time temporary position providing maternity leave coverage, with the possibility of extension.

What you bring:

  • Previous dispatch experience in traffic control, construction, transportation, emergency communications, or a related industry preferred
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Project Management, Office Administration, or a related field is considered an asset
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience working with computerized systems and customized software
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborate team
  • Basic accounting knowledge and experience with accounts payable processes are considered an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a satisfactory driver's abstract

This role involves a range of job duties, which include, but are not limited to:

  • Receive client service requests and schedule personnel and equipment accordingly
  • Prepare and distribute daily dispatches and weekly schedules
  • Prepare customer quotations and project estimates
  • Enter and maintain accurate dispatch and operational information
  • Support invoice processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial record maintenance
  • Collect, review, and process employee timecards for payroll submission
  • Respond to employee, client, and public inquiries professionally and courteously
  • Order and maintain office and operational supplies 
  • Provide administrative support to the branch 
  • Assist with other administrative and operational duties as required
