About the Opportunity Our client is an established manufacturer with a strong market position and a commitment to operational excellence. They're building out their finance function and creating a new General Accountant – Reporting Analyst role to strengthen their accounting and financial reporting capabilities.

You'll own the company's general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Serving as a key resource for month-end close and providing clear insights into the organization's financial health. You'll also support budget and forecast development, analyze variances to guide management decision-making, and produce ad hoc reporting for both local leadership and headquarters. This is a foundational role with clear scope and the opportunity to establish processes and systems that will serve the organization long-term.

Key Responsibilities Prepare journal entries and manage month-end closing activities Prepare and maintain account reconciliations for Balance Sheet accounts (bank reconciliations, capital assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, reserves, unearned revenue) Prepare monthly accruals and tracking of Advertising & Promotional expenses Complete quarterly reporting packages and analysis of financial data for headquarters Validate annual sales rebate program reports Prepare monthly variance analysis comparing actual to forecast, budget, and prior year Generate ad hoc accounting and sales reports for internal management and external stakeholders Assist in development of the annual business plan and monthly forecasts

What You Bring University or college diploma in Accounting or equivalent hands-on experience Minimum 3 years of general accounting and financial analysis experience Proficient with Microsoft Office, ideally advanced Excel Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities Hands-on experience with an ERP system (SAP S/4HANA preferred)

Nice to Have Cognos Analytics or business intelligence reporting experience Exposure to manufacturing or sales-driven business models Experience with sales rebate or promotional program accounting
