About the Opportunity Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who is eager to develop their skills while supporting key financial operations in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will assist with financial reporting, payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and various accounting projects while gaining valuable hands-on experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesInternal Reporting Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting journal entries. Process bi-weekly payroll and commission payments.
Financial Operations Perform monthly bank reconciliations and prepare related journal entries. Prepare weekly payment batches while ensuring all required approvals are obtained.
Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Maintain accurate Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable sub-ledgers. Verify customer billing information for accuracy. Process vendor payments, including cheques, wire transfers, and EFTs. Ensure all expenses are properly authorized and supported by appropriate documentation. Reconcile and summarize corporate credit card transactions.
Contest Auditing Review and verify monthly contest reporting and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy.
General Accounting Support Maintain organized financial records and filing systems. Assist with accounting projects and other finance-related duties as assigned. Support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and meeting reporting deadlines.
QualificationsRequired Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles (GAAP knowledge is an asset). Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and formulas. Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar ERP/accounting systems. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Professional attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills. Eagerness to learn and grow within an accounting career.
Preferred Previous internship or work experience in an accounting or finance environment. Experience with payroll processing and commission calculations. Exposure to financial audits or reconciliation/verification processes is considered an asset.
