About the role

Our client, a well-established company located in Laval, is seeking a Controller to play a key role within its team. The selected candidate will be responsible for the company’s financial management while contributing to various administrative and operational functions. This is a versatile position offering a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to work closely with senior management to support the organization’s goals and growth.
Responsibilities
- Act as the financial resource person for management by providing analyses, recommendations, and information required for decision-making.
- Oversee the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and accounting entries.
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements, financial reports, and performance indicators.
- Conduct profitability, cost, and performance analyses to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor budgets, control expenses, and manage cash flow.
- Supervise and support the accounting team in the execution of daily tasks and problem resolution.
- Optimize accounting and financial processes to improve operational efficiency.
- Participate in the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of accounting systems and management tools.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s financial, tax, and administrative obligations.
- Manage the year-end process, including the preparation and review of required financial documentation.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support the organization’s growth and development.
- Perform any other related duties as required.

Requirements
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation is considered a strong asset; equivalent experience in finance and accounting will also be considered.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar finance and accounting role.
- Experience supervising teams and managing personnel.
- Strong knowledge of legal, tax, and regulatory requirements applicable in Quebec.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is considered an asset.
- Professional-level proficiency in both French and English is required (approximately 20% of communications are conducted in English).
- Excellent analytical, planning, and priority management skills.
- Strong attention to detail, autonomy, and professionalism.
Salary: Competitive
Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday
