About the Job: The position has a large amount of autonomy and requires someone who can lead a team. This position will be responsible for 15-20 clients while ensuring that the reporting goes out in a timely manner. You will need to be comfortable engaging directly with clients and confident in your work. To be successful in this role you will need to be organized and work efficently. Although this is posted as full-time we are also open to part-time working arrangements. About us: We are a small accouting firm that provides Controller for Hire and Contract Bookkeeping services to our clients. We are mostly remote, and this position can be anywhere in Canada. Hours are also flexible. We allow our team to manage their own schedule and flex hours as they wish. Key Responsibilities Include: Supervise the activities of the senior accounting team members Ensure accuracy and timeliness of entries Prepare monthly financial reporting for multiple clients Maintain oversight on budgets Review A/P, payroll and other routine duties Lead year-end audits Engage with clients directly and attend meetings as required Other relevant duties as required We are looking for a candidate with the following Qualifications / Experience: Proven work experience as a Controller or another senior accounting role 10+ years of overall accounting experience including 5+ years of supervisory responsibility CPA designation would be considered an asset, previous firm experience preferred Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures Advanced knowledge of financial accounting software QBO, XERO, DEXT, HUBDOC, PLOOTO Microsoft Office Suite, Financial Cents NPO experience would be an asset Experience and ability to lead and mentor others Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player Ability to see the big picture
