Purpose Of The Position

Lac La Biche County is seeking a Clerk, Finance (AP) that supports accounts payable by processing invoices, responding to vendor and supplier inquiries, maintaining financial records, and assisting with payroll, reporting, and administrative tasks. The role requires strong accounting knowledge, accuracy, customer service, communication skills.

What You'll Do

Assist Accounts Payable Coordinator by assuming first point of contact with suppliers, vendors, and the public regarding outstanding items, and general inquiries on accounts payable matters. Review and process invoices accurately in the appropriate sub ledger, ensuring proper coding, purchase orders, supporting documentation, and approvals are attached. Send statements, invoices, supporting documentation, and correspondence as necessary. Review GST registration numbers and holdbacks. Maintain the vendor master file. Maintain the petty cash fund, ensuring compliance (i.e. bona fide expenses, authorizations, reconciliations). Prepare, review, and send correspondence, reports, and documents on behalf of the department. Assist Payroll Administrator with payroll processing duties on an as needed basis. Other duties as assigned.

To be successful in this position, you will come to us with:

Certificate (Diploma preferred) in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 1-2 years of related experience, preferably within a municipal or public-sector environment. Customer Service training is an asset. Payroll Compliance Certification is an asset. A satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

Job Details

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (35hrs/week), with some overtime required during year-end.
