About the Company: I'm partnering with a well-established, growth-oriented organization in the construction and infrastructure services industry to identify a Controller who is looking to make a meaningful impact within a growing business.
About the Role: This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for overseeing the accounting function, driving financial reporting, improving processes, and partnering with operations to support strategic growth.
Pay range and compensation package Base Salary: $140,000 (slight flexibility) Bonus: 10 to 20% depending on experience Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Responsibilities Own the month-end and year-end close process Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, including maintaining an 18-month rolling forecast Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and provide financial insights to executive leadership Oversee job costing, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, and inventory controls Develop, implement, and strengthen internal controls Support audit, tax, and regulatory compliance, including HST/PST and corporate tax requirements Partner with operational leaders to improve financial performance and support business decisions Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team
Qualifications 5 to10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline Proven leadership and people management experience Construction industry experience is highly preferred Experience leading the month-end close process
Required Skills Experience reducing month-end close through process improvements or system optimization Strong knowledge of GAAP or ASPE, audits, and indirect tax compliance Experience integrating acquired companies and financial consolidations Experience with percentage-of-completion accounting, WIP reporting, or job costing Prior experience in a private equity-backed organization
