Role Description The Bookkeeper role at Galaxy HR & Consulting is a full-time, on-site position based in North York, ON. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, processing journal entries, and reconciling accounts on a regular basis. The Bookkeeper will prepare and update financial statements, manage accounts payable and receivable, and support month-end and year-end closing activities. The role involves working with accounting software to track transactions, generate reports, and assist with budgeting and basic financial analysis. This position collaborates with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards, while supporting overall financial clarity and efficiency. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in Bookkeeping and Finance, with the ability to handle day-to-day transactional accounting. Experience preparing and reviewing Financial Statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. Hands-on experience with Accounting Software and systems used for managing ledgers, invoices, and financial reporting. Ability to accurately process and reconcile Journal Entries (Accounting) and perform account reconciliations. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Working knowledge of Canadian accounting practices and basic tax concepts; experience in small business or professional services environments is an asset. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders. Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant certification or progress toward designation (e.g., CPA, bookkeeping certificate) is considered an advantage.
