Role Description
We are seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to assist with accounting, compilation, review, and tax engagements for owner-managed businesses and corporations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules • Assisting with year-end working papers and financial statements • Preparing GST/PST returns, payroll filings, and other information returns • Preparing personal and corporate income tax returns • Communicating with clients and maintaining complete client files • Supporting senior team members with tax and advisory work • Assisting with other accounting and administrative duties as required
This is a hybrid position based in Vancouver, BC, with regular in-office attendance required.
Qualifications
• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business, or a related field • Foundational knowledge of financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills • Clear written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills • Enrollment in, or intention to pursue, the CPA Professional Education Program is an asset • Previous public practice, bookkeeping, tax, or assurance experience is an asset • Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is an asset but is not required
Preferred Software Experience
Experience with TaxCycle, QuickBooks Online, Sage 50, and CaseWare Working Papers is preferred.
