Accounting Assistant – Peru (Focus on Mass Payments)
Location: Peru/On-site
Job Type: Full-time
Reporting to: Finance Manager / country manager
Job Responsibilities
Mass Payment Operations: Execute scheduled mass payments to vendors, partners, or users via bank portals or third-party platforms. Accurately prepare and process payment batches, verifying account details, payment amounts, and supporting documentation. Ensure timely, error-free submission and confirmation of pay. Payment Process Control & Verification: Review and validate payment requests for accuracy and completeness according to internal policies. Confirm account balances prior to execution and maintain secure payment processing practices. Track payment statuses and escalate discrepancies or failures promptly. Payment Recordkeeping & Documentation: Maintain accurate and well-organized records of all payments, including screenshots, receipts, and logs. Archive payment documentation for audit and compliance purposes. Assist in reconciling payment data for internal and external reporting Cross-Team Coordination & Risk Awareness: Collaborate with internal departments such as operations and customer service to ensure smooth payment execution. Identify and report potential risks, such as duplicate or suspicious transactions. Comply with company policies and local financial regulations. Support for Headquarters and Reporting Requirements: Liaise with the headquarters finance team to ensure timely submission of local financial data, payment reports, and documentation. Assist in aligning local accounting practices with internal control standards and international reporting requirements. Provide bilingual communication (Spanish-English) support when needed for reconciliation, audits, or compliance coordination.
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field 1+ year of relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably with hands-on payment operations experience Familiar with Peruvian banking systems (e.g., BCP, Interbank) and online payment tools Proficient in Excel and cloud-based spreadsheet tools (e.g., Google Sheets) High level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to handle sensitive data responsibly Basic English skills required; ability to communicate with international teams is a plus Knowledge of SUNAT regulations and tax document handling is a bonus
