Role Summary: As a Lead Software Engineer, Total Fund Management, Financing, you will provide hands-on technical leadership for the design, development and delivery of modern, cloud-native applications supporting critical investment and treasury operations.
You will lead a team of software engineers, establish modern engineering practices and partner with business and technology stakeholders to deliver secure, resilient and scalable solutions. You will also advance the responsible use of artificial intelligence across the software development lifecycle to improve engineering productivity, software quality and delivery. Accountabilities & Qualifications: This role is part of the technology organization supporting CPP Investments’ Capital Markets and Treasury platforms. The team develops and supports enterprise applications across areas such as trading, post-trade processing, collateral management and cash management, enabling reliable and efficient investment operations. Accountabilities Lead the architecture, design, development and deployment of scalable, resilient and secure applications using Java and AWS Lead, mentor and develop a team of 7–8 software engineers while fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous learning Establish engineering standards and advance cloud-native development, Infrastructure as Code, microservices and event-driven architecture practices Champion the responsible adoption of AI-assisted development, coding agents and intelligent automation throughout the software development lifecycle Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability and continuous improvement Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, architects and technology leaders to translate business objectives into scalable technical solutions Lead the delivery of applications that meet performance, availability, security, compliance and operational support requirements What You Bring A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or a related discipline Extensive hands-on experience developing enterprise applications with Java and building cloud-native solutions on AWS Demonstrated experience leading and developing engineering teams, including technical coaching, work planning and performance feedback Hands-on experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps and cloud automation Experience applying generative AI and AI-assisted development tools to software engineering, including coding agents or intelligent workflow automation Strong knowledge of software architecture, distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture, Python, containers and application observability Experience supporting Capital Markets or Treasury technology, with knowledge of trading, post-trade processing, collateral management or cash management
