About this opportunity
The Financial Analyst will deliver timely and accurate presentations of financial and operational performance to operations/finance leaders and ensure all quarterly reporting requirements are met. The Financial Analyst will also facilitate the budget and forecast process to monitor and track actual performance against projections. Fostering discussions with colleagues, operational leads, administrative staff and finance leads to recommend and implement process improvements is a key aspect of the job.
Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
Take an inside look at what you’ll do each day
- Play a key role in the month end close process, preparing and posting monthly journal entries, which includes working papers and translating data from reports to support journal entries and ensuring accurate coding
- Prepare journal entries to ensure accurate recording of business activities (areas may include: business operations financial reporting, fixed asset ledger cycle maintenance);
- Maintain prepayment schedule ensuring accurate posting of expense to the ledger;
- Analyse general ledger account transaction and investigate anomalies;
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account (including intercompany) reconciliations; continuity schedules; and resolve anomalies;
- Support preparation of materials to present to senior management and external reporting
- Maintain integrity and professionalism in the bussiness environment
- Strong communication and ensure status updates of assigned work is provided to reporting manager
- Work in accordance with company health and safety guidelines and procedures; actively participate in safety initiatives, and promptly report any hazards or concerns.
- Ensure proper use of routine practices and use of personal protective equipment as required.
- Respect privacy and confidentiality of clients/caregivers/families and the health care team. Obtain verbal, or when required, signed consent to treat and ensure ongoing consent.
What you need to be successful
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 to 5 years of financial reporting / accounting experience
- Currently enrolled in the CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) program would be preferred
- Exposure to full cycle accounting, with experience in month-end close and journal entries
- Multi-entity accounting experience, is an asset
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines and perform bank and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Netsuite knowledge is an asset
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel
