Position: Senior IT Project Manager Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid) Contract to hire role
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Senior Technical Project Manager with 5-10 years of experience to lead our complex, cross-functional technology projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a proven track record of successfully delivering software development, infrastructure, or systems integration projects on time and within budget. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from planning and initiation to execution, monitoring, and closure. This role requires a unique blend of project management discipline, technical expertise, and exceptional leadership skills to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. 5-10 years of direct experience in technical project management, managing software development or infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and various project management methodologies, including Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall. Proven experience managing projects from conception to completion, including managing scope, schedule, budget, and risk. Proficiency with project management software, such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or similar tools. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills
Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or other relevant project management certifications. Experience managing projects in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP). Hands-on experience in a software development or engineering role prior to moving into project management. Experience in the financial services or banking industry. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
