Mortgage Loan Originator - Ramsey, MN

Yearly Salary: $70,000 - $95,000

We are seeking an experienced residential mortgage lending professional to be based in our Ramsey, Minnesota office, with responsibility for supporting mortgage lending activity across Security Bank & Trust Co.’s metro market footprint.

This role is responsible for originating and managing a mix of portfolio residential mortgage loans and secondary market loans originated through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines MPF program, while also supporting select consumer and commercial lending activities. The ideal candidate brings strong relationship building skills, sound credit judgment, and experience operating within a community banking environment.

Responsibilities

Loan Originations: Originate residential mortgage loans—including conventional, jumbo, construction to permanent, home equity loans, and HELOCs—serving customers throughout the bank’s metro market area. Manage loans held in portfolio as well as loans originated for secondary market sale through the FHLB Des Moines MPF program, ensuring compliance with investor, agency, and regulatory requirements. Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with borrowers, realtors, builders, and referral partners across the metro market. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the mortgage process. Market Support & Client Engagement: Operate primarily out of the Ramsey office while supporting mortgage lending activity across the broader metro market. Utilize other Security Bank & Trust Co. locations for client meetings, internal collaboration, and business development as needed. Compliance & Reporting: Adhere to internal credit policy and all applicable federal and state regulations, including TILA, RESPA, HMDA, Fair Lending, and SAFE Act requirements. Maintain accurate, complete, and audit ready loan documentation. Cross Team Collaboration: Work closely with underwriting, processing, loan operations, and branch staff to ensure consistent execution and timely loan closings across markets. Consumer Lending Support: Assist with select consumer loan products, including home equity and other consumer credit products, in accordance with bank policy.

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred. 3–7+ years of residential mortgage lending experience preferred. Experience with both portfolio mortgage lending and secondary market execution strongly preferred.

Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge of construction, jumbo, and home equity products. Active NMLS Mortgage Loan Originator registration (or ability to obtain). Solid understanding of credit fundamentals and regulatory requirements. Strong communication, organizational, and relationship building skills.
