About the role
Wuxly is a Canadian leader in advanced textile integration, tactical apparel, smart textiles and soft-goods manufacturing—pairing design, pattern engineering, supply chain, and scalable production to deliver for defence and government clients.
We operate as the commercial and operational bridge between breakthrough textile technologies and end users—acting as a systems integrator and program manager from concept to delivery. Our work sits in the dual-use arena: mission-ready solutions for Defence & Tactical, extreme cold weather (uniforms, outerwear, shelters, covers, concealment) alongside a growing consumer business, translating that same performance standard into premium outerwear and everyday gear built for real conditions. Our products and programs are executed under ISO 9001/14001 discipline and shaped by performance proven in the world’s harshest environments.
We are a growing garment manufacturer looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to anchor our finance function. Reporting to the Head of Finance/CFO, this is a role for someone who is comfortable in the details — reconciling accounts, closing the books — but who also understands the bigger picture: keeping a manufacturing operation financially healthy and cash-aware.
You will own the full accounting cycle, manage & train staff, lead ERP improvements on the accounting and finance side, lead our financial reporting, and play a direct role in cash flow management and financial planning.
If you have worked in manufacturing or a product-based business and understand how money moves through a production environment, you will feel right at home here.
Responsibilities:
Cash Flow Management and Financial Planning
- Build and maintain a 13-week projected cash flow model — updated weekly and presented to the management.
- Track inflows from customer collections and outflows across supplier payments, payroll, duties, freight, and overhead.
- Flag cash gaps early and work with the CFO to plan around them.
- Reconcile the model to actual bank balances every week so the forecast stays grounded.
2-Year Financial Projection
- Build and maintain a rolling 2-year financial model covering revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, and cash.
- Update the model quarterly — or more often as the business changes — with actual and revised assumptions.
- Support scenario planning: capacity expansion, new product lines, currency shifts, or changes in input costs.
- Present clean, easy-to-read outputs for ownership and lenders as needed.
Operational Cash Flow Oversight
- Prepare and analyze the operating cash flow statement monthly.
- Monitor working capital closely — particularly inventory build-up, receivables aging, and supplier payment timing.
- Identify early warning signs: slow collections, inventory creep, or payables stretching beyond terms.
- Collaborate with operations and sales to align production planning with cash availability.
- Interact with banks and financing institutions as and when required
Accounting + Financial Reporting
- Record and reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and purchasing accounts — daily or as transactions occur.
- Manage full accounts payable and receivable cycles, including aging reports and follow-up.
- Process and reconcile payroll liabilities; liaise with the payroll provider as needed.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules: additions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Manage loan schedules and intercompany account reconciliations.
Month-End & Year-End Close
- Execute a disciplined month-end close — accruals, prepaids, revenue cut-off, FX revaluation, and reclassifications.
- Prepare and present monthly financial statements: income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- Produce consolidated group financials.
- Prepare and report monthly or periodic banking reporting requirements
- Maintain audit-ready working papers for all balance sheet accounts.
- Support year-end and liaise with external accountants for the annual review or audit.
Tax & Compliance
- Prepare and file HST/GST returns on time.
- Support corporate tax provisioning; provide schedules and documentation to external tax advisors.
- Stay current on sales tax obligations across relevant jurisdictions.
Process, Controls + Systems
- Strengthen Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay processes — tighten controls where gaps exist.
- Build and maintain Excel-based tools: PivotTables, Power Query, variance analysis, KPI dashboards.
- Document key processes so the finance function is not dependent on one person.
- Contribute to system and ERP improvements — whether that means better use of the existing accounting platform or evaluating new tools.
Qualifications and Profile We’re Looking For:
Qualifications
- Alignment with, and exemplification of Wuxly’s values (Unequivocal Excellence, Drive Innovation, Act Like an Owner, Humble, Row Together)
- High level of accountability
- CPA designation (or near completion) preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing or product-based environment.
- Solid working knowledge of ASPE; familiarity with IFRS and US GAAP is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining cash flow models and financial projections.
- Strong Excel skills — you build tools from scratch, not just use templates.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP, preferably Odoo.
Profile and Fit
- You are organized, reliable, and take ownership of your work.
- You can work independently and are comfortable in a lean, fast-moving environment.
- You communicate clearly — you can explain a cash flow variance to a non-finance owner without jargon.
- You are curious about business, not just the books.
- Wuxly may use AI to assist in the initial screening stage of the recruitment process - however, Humans will be the primary reviewer of applications.

Wuxly prioritizes recruiting and hiring local talent into positions to lead these initiatives, and are committed to being positive corporate citizens within our community.
