<div><strong>Requirements:</strong></div><ul><li>Language: English (spoken and written) and French is an asset.</li><li>Education: University degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Admin. Related field.</li><li>Professional Payroll Certification is an asset.</li><li>Experience: 3 ? 5 years experience in the field or related field with minimum 2 years in a supervisory role.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programming.</li><li>Knowledge of payroll software and related systems.</li><li>Excellent communication skills.</li></ul><div><br><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></div><div><strong>Payroll Supervision &amp; Administration:</strong></div><ul><li>Supervise and support the payroll clerk, including task allocation, review of work, and training.</li><li>Oversee full-cycle payroll processing for 300+ employees (hourly and salaried), including overtime, shift premiums, multiple pay rates, and statutory holidays.</li><li>Review and approve payroll adjustments, corrections, and off-cycle payments.</li><li>Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with legislation and company policies.</li><li>Act as the primary escalation point for payroll-related questions from employees and management.</li></ul><div><strong>Payroll System Management:</strong></div><ul><li>Serve as the primary owner and administrator of the payroll system.</li><li>Maintain payroll system configuration, including earnings, deductions, benefits, and tax setup.</li><li>Ensure system accuracy, data integrity, and proper security controls.</li><li>Lead payroll system testing related to updates, upgrades, or legislative changes.</li><li>Partner with HR, IT, and system vendors to resolve system issues and implement enhancements.</li><li>Develop and maintain payroll procedures, documentation, and user controls.</li></ul><div><strong>Compliance &amp; Remittances:</strong></div><ul><li>Ensure accurate and timely statutory remittances (income tax, CPP/QPP, EI, workers? compensation, pension and benefit deductions, garnishments).</li><li>Maintain compliance with federal, provincial/state, and local payroll legislation.</li><li>Prepare and submit year-end payroll reporting (T4s, RL-1s, ROEs, and related filings).</li><li>Stay current on legislative and regulatory changes impacting payroll.</li></ul><div><strong>Payroll Accounting &amp; Month-End Support:</strong></div><ul><li>Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries.</li><li>Reconcile payroll, benefit, and statutory liability accounts.</li><li>Support month-end close activities related to payroll, including accruals and labour cost analysis.</li><li>Provide payroll data and documentation for internal and external audits.</li><li>Work collaboratively with accounting and operations teams to ensure accurate labour costing.</li></ul><div><strong>Commitment:</strong></div><ul><li>Comply with all health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as applicable regulations and laws.</li></ul><div><br>Please send your resume and cover letter to:<strong> </strong><a rel="nofollow" rel="nofollow" href="mailto:careers@kappaper.ca"><strong>careers@kappaper.ca</strong></a></div><div><strong>&nbsp;</strong></div><div>Please include the job title in the subject line of your email.<br><br></div><div><strong>We thank all who apply but will only be contacting those selected for an interview.<br></strong><br></div><div>Kap Paper Inc is an equal opportunity employer.
